I’m starting a new segment on this blog entitled, “#TechTuesdays.”
I’m a nerd at heart and I love just about all things technology (thus why I studied engineering in school), so today I’m going to share with you some photo editing apps I use for Instagram.
If you’re ready to learn how to improve your photo editing skills, let’s get started:
Facetune is by far one of my most favorite photo editing apps to use on my IPhone. It’s like a “mini photoshop.” Facetune allows you to import photos straight from your IPhone photo gallery into the app, for photo editing and retouching.
The features I use the most are the Details feature and the Smooth feature. With these tools, I’m able to define and smooth out certain areas of my picture.
Using the Filters feature, I’m able to adjust the lighting and the lens type of my photo, as well as add any colored filters I choose to give my picture a certain look.
You do have to purchase this app from the App Store, but I highly suggest it- it’s well worth the $2-$3 bucks.
2. InstaFit – Free App
InstaFit is a free app that allows you to crop photos for Instagram.
This app helps me crop my tweets to the appropriate size and orientation to fit into my Instagram Feed.
You can use Instafit to crop any picture of any size to the standard size of all Instagram photos. This app helps you keep consistency within your Instagram feed library.
3. Iphone Photo Editor
When I take photos using my IPhone 6S, I always use the built in photo editing tool on my IPhone to enhance my photos. The photo editing tools on the IPhone allow you to adjust a picture’s lighting, contrast and saturation. You can even pick and choose different filters to add on top of your picture.
So if you’re not #teamIPhone these apps and tools won’t work for you, however, I’m sure there are similar apps for Android users for photo editing and retouching.
There you have it folks! These are some of the ways I edit and retouch my photos for Instagram.
If you have any other cool apps not mentioned that you use to edit photos for Instagram, leave them down below in the comments section and I’ll check them out. You can follow me on Instagram @crystalngumezi.
