What Does it Mean to be a Proverbs 31 Woman: Part 3

This series has received so much positive feedback, and I’m so thankful to all of the wonderful women who participated, and to all of you who reached out to me!

Today we are taking the concept of a Proverbs 31 Woman even deeper. As with the previous posts to this series, I still want you to be thinking about what it means to you to be a Proverbs 31 Woman.

When you think of your sister, or your mother or aunt, what comes to mind?

Today’s guest is a beautiful woman named Ms. Gayle. I met her through my church’s small group team, and she is such a sweet sweet lady! Her essence is exactly what I had in mind when I thought of this concept, and I am so honored to mention her.

Let’s get started on today’s topic of discussion:

I again want you to think about a woman in your immediate family  – an aunt, a sister, or your mother – what comes to mind? Do you have anyone in your family who resembles the Proverbs 31 Woman?

With these questions being asked, let’s break down Proverbs 31 even further.

Proverbs 31:20 tells us, “She opens her hands to the poor and reaches out her hands to the needy.” A Proverbs 31 Woman is someone who is compassionate and kind. She only seeks to help others with a lending hand, and asks for nothing in return. Her very nature is to help others and to make them feel comfortable. She is a public servant and a blessing to those she comes across.

Proverbs 31:26 reads, “She opens her mouth with wisdom, and the teaching of kindness is on her tongue.” Now ladies – this one is especially for you. A Proverbs 31 Woman is a woman who is kind and careful with her speech. Her words are not meant to divide or tear down, but instead to unite and build up. She speaks with wisdom and her words hold weight and value. All who listen to her will receive knowledge and great insight. A Proverbs 31 Woman is a mindful speaker, and her words uplift with sound reasoning.

Proverbs 31:30 says, ” Charm is deceitful, and beauty is vain, but a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised.” One of the more popular verses from Proverbs 31, this scripture tells us that a Proverbs 31 Woman is a woman who’s true beauty is found in her reverence to God. A woman who holds God to a high esteem is a woman who will live well. She is to be praised and honored for her integrity and her commitment to serve God in every way.

And lastly, Proverbs 31:31 reads, ” Give her the fruit of her hands, and let her works praise her in the gates.” What this means to me, is that a Proverbs 31 Woman is a woman who receives what she deserves for her hard work and due diligence. Her good works have an excellent report, and she herself is able to reap from what she has sown.

Ms. Gayle is such a lovely lady that you are left smiling after each visit with her. She truly embodies the principles explained above, and she is worthy to be titled a Proverbs 31 Woman. Her family respects her, and what she has experienced over the years of her life will truly make you value and respect her too.

Share this with those you feel it would bless, and remember to honor the women in your life who you feel embody the traits and characteristics of a Proverbs 31 Woman.

A woman who honors God and who honors herself, is a woman who in return should be honored by others as well. Continue the conversation and continue spreading the love!

Thank you for reading. Like this post if you enjoyed it and catch back up with me next week for another featured guest!
